Route C - Have your say

Closes 1 Oct 2025

Opened 1 Oct 2024

Overview

The Arlen Hill City Council is excited to announce plans for a new bus priority route along Maple Avenue, as part of our initiative to enhance the speed, reliability, and efficiency of the local bus network.

The current proposal includes:

  • New Bus Lane: A 700-meter westbound bus lane from Oak Street to Elm Drive.
  • Road Modifications: Conversion of the central traffic island into a roadway to accommodate the new bus lane.
  • Junction Improvements: Updates to the existing junction layout and adjustments to the traffic signal timings at the pedestrian crossing.

This project aligns with the City Council’s bus priority initiative, which aims to make bus journeys 10% quicker compared to 2015. Enhancing bus journey times will benefit existing passengers, attract new users, and generate savings that can be reinvested into better connections, vehicles, stops, and shelters. Maple Avenue has been identified as a key priority location for these improvements.
